Your piano is more than a musical instrument; it’s a decorative piece of furniture that adds beauty and value to your home.

Unsurpassed Service and Support

Investing in the proper care for your piano is a wise decision indeed, and no one is as capable of restoring your piano to its original perfection or repairing a minor problem as our piano technicians. Our service department is staffed with highly trained and experienced piano technicians, which allows Vincitore’s, Hudson Valley Piano Center to provide our customers with unsurpassed service and support. Whether your cherished piano is in need of custom refinishing, replacement of the action or soundboard, or a simple tuning, it couldn't be in better hands.

Routine service is part of piano ownership and you should consider it no more unusual than the maintenance program you would have for an automobile, boat, or airplane you might own. There are three basic steps in maintaining the sound of your piano: tuning, which brings the piano back to pitch: voicing, which affects the piano's tone, or quality of sound: and action regulation, which is adjustment of the action mechanism and affects the touch of the piano.

If your cherished piano is in need of service or if you're in need of a piano technician please call Vincitore’s, Hudson Valley Piano Center to schedule an appointment. Contact us to learn more.

Delivery

Should the instrument be delivered in cool weather, please place it in an unheated room and don’t open it. The instrument should slowly be introduced to normal room temperatures.

Location

The instrument is meant to be placed and played in rooms with constant dry and normal temperatures. Moisture, drafts, over heating, large temperature fluctuations and direct sun light will damage the instrument. The instrument can tolerate humidity fluctuations between 40–70%. The instrument should not be placed close to an outside wall or directly near a heat source.

Service

The instrument should only be serviced by qualified technicians. The type and frequency of service depend on the needs and wishes of the owner as well as the use of the instrument.

Cleaning

Please do not use furniture polish to clean the instrument. Polyester areas are best dusted using a soft lint-free cloth (which can be damp) or a feather duster. We recommend Cory Piano Polish (super high gloss) for larger cleaning jobs. Open-pore instruments should be dusted with a dry, lint-free cloth.

Keyboard

The keyboard should never be cleaned with cleaners that contain alcohol, spirits or solvents. Soapy water and a soft cloth have proven best for cleaning the keyboard. With the cleaning, be careful not to slop excess water on the keys. The goal is to prevent water dripping down the side of the keys and soaking the wood of the keys or the keybed below.

Tuning

During the first year, the instrument should be tuned two to three times and at least twice a year thereafter.
